Sandy Pond Par 3 Golf Course

Roanoke Ave
Riverhead, NY 11901
Phone: (516)727-0909

This par 3 course is located on Long Island. The tees and greens are elevated, and six of the nine holes are well bunkered. The fairways are somewhat open, featuring only a few trees that can affect your shots. Water hazards (three ponds) come into play on six holes. Since the course doesn't have too many trees, the wind from off the ocean, located only twenty minutes away, is usually a factor.

it is too expensive, Mar 27, 2010

it used to be 7 dollars to play here. i can play a semi private course 11 dollars after 2pm on weekdays and 13 on weekend. par 36. also with a green key its only 14 dollars to play 9 holes at timber point which is a very nice course right on the bay.

World's Best Par 3 Golf Course!!!, Jun 09, 2009
reviewer: Links Lover from Riverhead, NY
Happy Golfmore does NOT know what he is talking about. I play this course daily and I find his review completely untrue. First off, I can't even fathom how the prices are too high. If you, Happy, can find another golf course for even double the price, I would be shocked. I highly doubt that $11.00 for 9 holes of golf is too high. As for the greens, clearly you have not been back there for a while. They are immaculate! I highly recommend Sandy Ponds Par 3 Golf Course for beginners, professionals, and anyone in between. In my opinion, this is the best golf course for children to learn how to play, as well as a uniquely challenging course to improve your short game. See you on the course!

And the greens are done, Sep 22, 2007

Over priced and completely unkept. The greens have dead spots like I've never seen on a course. It is unfortunate because 3 years ago it was in really good shape.

ITS SOOO CUTE AND FUN! VERY FAMILY ORIENTED AND FILLED WITH GORGEOUS PONDS AND TREES AND A BRIDGE. THE WORKERS ARE FRIENDLY AND YOU FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. THE LANDSCAPING IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE HILLS ARE MAGNIFICENT. I LOVE IT!

The perfect setting for a beginning golfer of any age., Aug 30, 2004
reviewer: W. Demaria from East Norwich, N.Y.
Sandy Pond is perfect for young golfers who are ready to graduate from the driving range and putting green to a real course. Other than senior citizens, most of the threesomes and foursomes are made up of youngsters. The longest holes are about 160 yards but water and sand make the shorter holes quite challenging. The course is also very well maintained.
