This course is an excellent place for the whole family to come out and play. It is both very enjoyable to play, and at the same time very challenging. One of the more demanding holes is #8, a 433-yard, par 4, requiring shots into a prevailing wind. Herbert Fowler redesigned the course in the early 1900's.

It was a simple flat laid out course. Good for beginers. The price was phenominal. I agree it isn't the nicest course, but that isn't why you go to this course. This course is great for people who are on a tight budget. The course may be a little run down but thats because of the city of Riverside.

Pretty shabby and windy, Jan 18, 2008
reviewer: Anonymous from Idyllwild, CA
I found the course in pretty poor shape. The wind was blasting and all of the flags were blown over, so the greens were really hard to see. The layout is weird and certainly not intuitive - I even teed off in the wrong direction on 7. The driving range goes right out toward the course! It was cheap, though.

The course has to be one of the worst run couses in the So Cal area. The fairways are dry weed filled with many gopher holes. The range is just as bad with old dry cracked balls. I will say the greens are the nicest part of the course. But even if your a beginner spend a couple of extra dollars and play a nicer course. You are better of almost anywhere but here.

Good course for the money, Jul 02, 2005
reviewer: Billy Mange from Redlands, CA
As a beginning golfer (less than 20 games under my belt) I really like this golf course for a myriad of reasons. The price is very reasonable, the drives are nice and long (so you can swing away), and the vibe (milieu) is quite relaxed and not as uptight as other courses I've played on). Note that you are not getting the greenest grass nor the immaculate grounds that Tiger gets to play on but if yu can get over that and play for the great fun and challenge of the game - then this course will definitly fit the bill. Enjoy!
