This narrow course features tree-lined fairways, and there is enough variety of terrain to challenge any skill level. The greens are small, undulating, and well bunkered. Water hazards (two ponds and a brook) come into play on five holes. A new clubhouse and cart paths were completed in 1996.

Nice course for the money. Greens are inconsistant due to bad spots. Course keepers are courteous by turning off equipment as you play through the areas where they are working. Staff is helpful and appreciative of your business. Frequent tournaments make playing difficult sometimes and could be frustrating for a member of the course that likes to play daily. Club Pros are great instructors and there is a nice driving range and putting green. Food is great at the clubhouse.

Oakmont Country Club
"Tough but Fair"
Oakmont is a picturesque layout in the foothills of Glendale with lovely mountain views. The course is an old-style country club layout which rewards well planned out shotmaking. The greens are usually very fast and reward players for being below the hole. The Pac-10 Conference Championship was held at Oakmont in 2003 and only two players broke par (288) in a field of 50. The players found the par 3's particularly challenging. The greens are very well protected with sand bunkers and the fairways are heavily tree-lined. Best time to play Oakmont is in the spring and fall. I find the twelfth hole to be the most challenging. It is a 420 yard par four, uphill and terraced. The green is long and narrow, two-tiered and protected by a large bunker on the right and a drop-off hill and trees on the left.

"Beautiful & Relaxing"
This golf course is one of the most beautiful and relaxing courses I have ever played on. The natural beauty of the area is emphasized. It is a challenging course that is very well manicured for such a small area of the province. I'd recommend AVCC to anyone.

McPherson Country Club
"MCC was a tough little course"
I played in a Tourney there in June. It is a short course but one that demands shaping shots. MCC has postage stamp greens that are sloped and at times faster than any greens you will find anywhere. It is not uncommon to 3 or 4 whack on these greens that were well manicured. MCC is not your typical golf course but thats what makes it tough and fun. Bring your nerves cause this course is not a push-over to score low on.
