Cow pasture ruined, Mar 30, 2007

This course is pretty ridiculous. Very hilly & blind shots on just about every hole. Even one of the par-3s you can't see the green, just the top of the flagstick. If you enjoy walking, you'll be out of breath before you get to the next tee. There is a driving range but just barely. To be fair they have made some improvements such as making the silly par-four 9th into a long par three even though most players will need to hit a wood to get to the green on this one. Also number 10 has been made into a long par 4 from a par 5 (you had to lay up with an iron to a narrow tongue of fairway before unless you were John Daly). It does drain well & the price is not that bad. Tee times are pretty easy to get & walk-ons are welcomed most of the time. Overall , I'd have to say that there are better choices out there in my humble opinion.

Give it a try!, May 07, 2004

This is an interesting course. Many blind tee shots, so it can be helpful your first time out to go with someone familiar with the course. It is hilly, so walking will definately give you the workout you've been looking for. Plentiful carts to rent if you're not in great shape. Not many water hazards to avoid, the only one's that can give you real trouble are on holes 3 & 10. The woods are the real kicker. Many a ball has come to spend it's final days with the birds and deer. (The deer, by the way, do have the right of way on the fairways.) The course in general is laid out in a logical pattern that is fairly easy to follow. Quite a few long holes that can be frustrating to a beginner, but overall it is definately playable for all skill levels. The clubhouse has decent snacks and drinks, but no real "food." The staff is wonderful, especially Jeff, their Pro. It is not a snobby exclusive course, they welcome most anyone with a genuine interest in golf. I particularly enjoy the location, as it is away from the city, quiet, and beautiful. I think as this course matures, and some of the trees grow up, it will only get better and more interesting.

" If your opponent is playing several shots in vain attempts to extricate himself from a bunker, do not stand near him and audibly count his strokes. It would be justifiable homicide if he wound up his pitiable exhibition by applying his niblick to your head. -- Harry Vardon "
