This course was built on flat terrain, but the fairways are narrow and tree lined. The small greens are fast, and water hazards come into play on six holes. This club has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. It was also recognized by "GOLF Magazine" in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America,"

| An oft repeated claim, CCR has everything any confident golfer could want. I'ts stately trees, natural brooks and beauty make for a challenging and exciting day. When the annual invitational draws the best local and national college amateurs to it's historic confines, par is very rarely broken. Host to the first ever U.S. Women's Open in 1960, the club repeated as host in 1973 only to prove overly difficult, at that time, to it's eager challengers. Fabulous memoribilia (including Walter Hagen's prize putter) decorate a welcoming, yet beatifully appointed Club House that will instigate lively discussions and fond memories among it's fortunate visitors. Traditional in every sense, CCR is a tribute to the origins of "Goffe" in the United States. (When in doubt, most putts break to the Fire House.) |
