This short course is a favorite of seniors. The fairways are wide, and the terrain is flat. Because the rough is long and fairways are tree lined, shot accuracy is at a premium. There are large sand bunkers in play on holes #6 and #7.

Great Practice Course, Jun 26, 2004

If your just starting out, or looking for a cheap 9 holes to play after work this course is for you. Nothing eloborate, wide open spaces. The good part is that the course will let you know how good you really are ! If you shoot a bad score.. it's not the courses fault!

Griffith Park Golf Courses - Wilson Course
"wonderful"
wonderful greens and fairways, every hole was definitely unique and fairly challenging. We were able to find an opening to play on the course on a busy day without making a reservation. Allowed us to bring a spectator, with a price of course. Played both courses and would definitely come back. The only set-back was...there wasn't a beverage cart in sight and the play was pretty slow, had to wait for other players. Overall experience was great and would recommend to others.

"Natural golf"
Ellis Maples used time-tested design methods on Quarry Hills golf course. Not alot of earth was moved when placing the holes, and the result is a warm, natural feel when walking this course. In fact, it was made to walk. Despite its short length, it is a strong test of golfing skill to score well here. A true Hidden Gem in North Carolina.

Throckmorton Country Club
"The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
This 9 hole course is the hardest little course I have ever played! If you think the Links is hard wait until you play this bad boy! The hardest hole would probably be #7. This par 5 may look easy when you step up on these elevated tee boxes but just wait until you tee off. Thats when the adventure begins. The second hardest would the #5. This par 4 dogleg right is probably the hardest par 4 on the course. Of course there are a few easy holes thrown in just so you don't lose your confidence. So if you are ever traveling through Throckmorton; be sure and stop to play "The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
