This course's first seven holes were built alongside the Atlantic Ocean, and because the heavy ocean breezes play a major factor, proper club selection becomes a major part of the game. The signature hole is #4, a 503-yard, par 5, which plays alongside the ocean and has a beautiful view of the waves crashing around the Rockland Breakwater. "Golf Digest" ranked this as the 2nd "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. The same publication ranked it 26th among the "Top 75 Resort Courses" for 1992, and 52nd in the category of "Top 75 Upscale Courses" for 1996. Geoffrey Cornish and Brian Silva redesigned this course in the 1980's. Various golf cards are accepted for discounts.

Enjoy the view--bring your putter, Aug 17, 2004

We played this track on a beautiful, breezy day. The wind kept us honest and the greens gave us fits. Not a tough course, but one than can bite a first-timer like me. The holes range in quality from 'boring' to 'wow'. #4, along the ocean, was the best part of the day. Along the ocean, with tough shots from tee to green. Greens were deceptive in their speed and undulation. The course was in good shape and is worth the trip.
