| I was a member at RCC for a little over a year while stationed with the military in South Texas. While there aren't a variety of courses to play in that area, RCC remains the best kept secret in town (thank goodness!). The layout was challenging and the conditions always at their best regardless of the local weather (which is often very hot and dry.) The staff there was firendly and helpful and the membership, while typically a bit older, was always gracious and accomodating. If you find yourself anywhere in the Corpus Christi/Port Aransas/Rockport area, make sure to put a round of golf here on your list of things to do. |

An OK Course for Good ol' Boys, Jul 01, 2004 |

| There's not much to do in Rockport, so I was looking forward to some golf. First, let me say, "it sure ain't Orlando." But, in all fairness, while it is a short course, it does offer some challenges. Foremost among these are the bugs and insects. You also will see a good many colorful characters hanging out at the course. Many of them appear to be on oxycontin, however. The fairways are well maintained, but the greens are littered with cigarette butts and beef jerkey wrappers. For a private club, the players appear to lack the sophistication that one might expect; coveralls, fishing hats, and inexpensive golf gear. The par 5, 150 yard, 12th hole is a memorable and challenging one. Your tee shot needs to bypass a convenience store and parking lot covering the width of the fairway. It's a unique and fun hole! Give RCC a try, just make sure you have a roundtrip ticket out of town. |

A little slice of heaven..., Jul 01, 2004 |

| My wife and I were passing through Rockport and found a gem of a spot. The RCC course, while "smallish" compared to the long courses that we play in Orlando, Fl.,it was a challenging and entertaining course. The greens were in wonderful shape in spite of some very dry weather and the fairways were a joy to behold. We met some wonderful folks at the club. Chief among them was Jim McBurney and his brood of fightin' McBurneys. They are a great golfing family; competitive, yet gracious. In fact, the eldest daughter, Julie, was visiting from Orlando and plays a lot of the courses that we play in O'Town. She was more big city girl than small town girl. That became apparent when she wound up in one of the courses many sand traps or difficult rough -- she was the one you could hear mutter the expletives. It was all in good fun though, and that is what this course is all about. Play it, if you have a chance! |

Best Kept Secret In Texas, Feb 06, 2004 |

| I am a very experienced player who really enjoyed the great conditions and excellent design of this golf course. I later found out that it is a Bill Coore design. He is considered one of the best minimalist designers working today. The members of this course are hiding a real gem in Southeast Texas. |
