This is an old, typical Donald Ross traditional-style course with tree-lined fairways and well-manicured greens. There are tall pine trees and creeks that come into play throughout the course. This course has postage stamp-sized greens.

| This Ross gem in "Remarkable" Rocky Mount is a beautifully laid out stacked hole course. You can see a lot of the holes you're playing from any point on the golf course. The greens are smallish and are generally sloped severely from back to front. The fairways and rough are well manicured, nestled between giant willow oaks and pines. The par 5's are all quite long from the gold tees despite the seeming short yardages. All 3 shot holes for me. The gold tees at 6600 yards are deceptively long and the course probably plays more like 6800 or 6900. Great course in a great town. Check out Central Cafe in downtown Rocky Mount after your round for the best burger and dog you'll ever put in your mouth. |
