This course is highlighted by its narrow and tree-lined holes, and there are large gullies that bisect some of the fairways. The front nine has many dogleg fairways, but the back nine plays more straightaway and is longer. The "Arkansas Business Golf Magazine" rated this as the thirteenth "Best in State" course. In addition, "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 4th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. The ladies' par is actually 77.

I have played this course many times through the past years. I have always found the course to be in excellent shape and the staff extremely friendly. I would recommend this course.

Bring cash!!!, May 26, 2008
reviewer: Kyle from Tulsa, OK
Wow! Plan on bringing cash, becuase that's all they accept. This course might have been one of the top courses in 1996 if there was only 5 courses to choose from. In desperate need of new management and someone who will put some money into it. Cart paths are horrible and fairways need to be kept up badly.

EXCELLENT, Dec 01, 2004
reviewer: Anon from Bentonville, Arkansas
The course is one of the toughest challenges you'll ever face, but note this caveat: PLAY IN THE AFTERNOON! The members are people you want to avoid. Foul-tempered, ill-mannered old goats. Fortunately, they all seem to play in the morning. Afternoon golf here is a joy.

Course is a tale of two nines, Apr 11, 2004
reviewer: George from Rogers, AR
I have played this course more than any other in NW Arkansas. It never ceases to be a challenge. The top nine features tight fairways that place a premium on accuracy. If your tee shot wanders off the fairway, you've got trouble. When playing the front nine, think conservative. The greens are medium-sized and are challenging. The bottom or back nine is laid out in a valley and, while they are not wide open by any means, they are a bit more forgiving. There is a creek running down the right side of 9-17, with woods on the left. If you put a ball off the fairway into either the woods or the creek, you might as well get out another ball and take the penalty. The 18th features a blind tee shot to an elevated green. This is a fun and challenging course. Don't plan on walking in the heat of summer. The terrain is too rough. While PCCC is semi-private, the folks who run Prairie Creek are always welcoming to new golfers.

Prairie Creek review March 2004, Mar 25, 2004

The course has 18 holes. The front nine has hills and the greens have many breaks, hard to putt. The Back nine is newer and is much more flat. The Back nine had some long par 4 holes. It is not a bad course but you would have to play it once to learn where you need to hit the ball - target golf. You can end up in a lot of trouble.
