| Renwood is a tale of two courses. the front nine is a water protected modernish track with large greens and tight fairways. The back nine is an older more traditional track with postage stamp greens on several holes and mature tree lined fairways requiring accuracy off the tee. The key to Renwood is straight. Playing barely over 6000 yards from the tips the course protects herself with harsh penalties right and left and often times both. The driver should remain warm inside it's protective sock for most of this round but you will have ample opportunity to make plenty of putts. The greens are usually in pretty good shape and the speed is pedestrian. The back nine could use a little work to add interest but at the price point Renwood will provide an enjoyable day. The club house is new, but not fancy, and in addition the staff is warm and friendly. The assistant pro Mike Perez is one of the top teachers in the midwest.I should make more use of that fact! |

| Your description is pretty old. They have remodeled the course, and switched everything around. The old back nine is now the front, which is rather challenging with plenty of water. But the back nine does feature several non-descript straight, short par 4s. |
