There are additional sets of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round. This club originally opened in 1888 and has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. It was also recognized in "GOLF Magazine's" 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America."

| Nice course - fun to play - beautiful views and tough lies - but bring your own game - not a lot of support here - no professional golfing staff - take a walk through the 100+ old club house. |

Excellent Course, May 11, 2007 |

| This Course is very well maintained. The grass is so lush, greens and fairways are mowed to perfection. Views are breath taking. People in the pro shop need some work, but whoever is in charge of the grass aspect of the course should be very proud. They do an execellent Job. I also noticed that the course is only watered by hoses with attached sprinklers. This takes great didication by the staff of the course and needs to be noticed. Excellent course to play and is a rare beauty! |

Beautiful scenery, elitist club, Jul 18, 2006 |

| The Ausable Club is full of incredibly wealthy elitists who look at you funny if you don't fit their description of what it is to be a human being. That would include, of course, having white skin, wearing expensive custom made clothing, and driving a BMW SUV any distance that you may need to travel that is over 10 feet. If you don't fit this description: Stay Away! |

One of the best executive clubs around, Aug 01, 2004 |
| reviewer: Chris Blaicher

| This course gets a 5 star rating based on what it is, a senic executive course. It is carved out of the moutains that surround it and has wonderful views on every hole. It is not a challenging course in terms of length. There is only one hole that plays long, the 6th hole (also plays as the 15th) is an uphill par 5. This is followed by a very dramatic 140 yd par 3 where the tee is about 100 ft above the green. The challange of this little course is that you will probably never get the same lie twice and on some holes the trees come right to the fairway for the first 150 yds. If you are near Lake Placid, it is worth the time to stop and play it. You need to call ahead and see if they have a reciprocal agreement with your club. |
