Greens and tee boxes need some work but it is early in the year. Fairways are in decent shape, and you can't beat the convenience of Forest Park or the price.

Between the clueless people wandering in the middle of the course, the local idiots trying to converse with you while your teeing off (Can you tell me how to get to the Jewel Box? Windy today, isn't it? Etc.)and the lack of proper signage pointing you to the next hole, where to get your cart, where the 10th hole is and so on and so on. It made for a very unpleasant and frustrating round of golf on an otherwise decent course.

Delaware Park Course
"Delaware 2003 review"
Delaware Park is a great place to learn to play golf because it offers open fairways, well maintained greens, no sand or water. There is hardly ever a bag line. There are 18 holes on relatively flat land. The trees present the only problems as many are in the fairways. The course conditions have shown vast improvement recently , especially in 2003 when new tee boxes were planted and benches were placed at each hole. It compares favorably, I think to the 2 other city courses, Cazenovia and South Park. Those courses offer just 9 holes each. The park setting is beautiful. If you want to practice without being intimidated, this is the place.

Rainier Golf & Country Club
"One of the best In Seattle area"
Rainier Golf has everything for the family. Nice greens, beautiful fairways, ponds, and a great crew that takes care of it. It has an older clubhouse with French stying. Ron Proctor the last Superintendent, drove the course into a new direction by rebuiding all of the fairways, adding six to twelve inches of sand, drainage, and training the best crew to care for it. He kept up on new mowers, bringing high quality, cutting edge practices into the day to day maint. of the course. Rainier golf is worth the money. All done through two generations of golf Superintendent know how. Rainier is a links style layout, and challenging for everyone.

"simply amazing!!"
I was very lucky to be able to play this private track. I would highly recommend this course if you are ever able to get the invite. The clubhouse is what you would expect at a private gated community, large and splendid. But the true beauty is the 18 holes of pure bliss. The course slips and slides through some amazing terrain and it is a shot makers course. You can enjoy this course at any handicap because of the many tee options but if you are feeling bold, take a few steps back and take on the whole course. This course offers alot to the average golfer but like I said, If you get the chance to play it don't pass it up.This is a top 3 course on the grand strand but because it is private not many people get the honor of playing this amazing golf course.
