A good course for a cheap price!, Aug 16, 2004

Wow this course is good not too challenging for you ams but good enough for the people who wanna get better. Altough it is easy it lets you increase your skill i know i have greatly increased my skill and if you feed like hitten a few balls befor e or after they also have a nice driving range away from the course.

This is a good course for learning how to play golf. The greens are ok but the course overall needs some work. Expect to see a lot of newer golfers at the course.

Quail Ridge Golf Course
"Great Learning Course"
A very fair, playable course. Gives the novice an opportunity to try their skills without extreme risk. It also will challenge the low handicap golfer with it's terrain and hazard placement. The par 5's are scattered on the course so as to challenge you at the most critical times. Holes 8 through 12 will leave you feeling as though you've run a marathon only to have very delicate par 3's ahead.

"Nice Backyard Course"
Their fairways are like my front yard grass, the greens are slow as molasses and the tee boxes look like a dog did them in. There are no twilight prices and no off season prices. The course is made up of mainly par 3's and 4's. All 18 is fun if you like to play the same holes over again. My advice play the back 9 because it is a lot more challenging. Nice course to kick back a few. The bright side is there carts are $5 but you might as well walk and get your moneys worth. But overall it is a prime course for someone learning to golf. But as Ferhty would say "There's no flys on that one", does not pertain to this course.

Mackinaw Club, The
"Good Course for the money"
The course has been slow in developing into a 5 star upnorth golf course. But each year the course has matured. The fairways and greens are becoming lushier. I think it is due to lack of funds. The course is very challenging and for the money ($40 ) it is well worth the trip to Mackinaw.
