This links-style course is challenging, due to the many hazards hidden throughout the design. There are several water hazards and drainage ditches that come into play on a number of holes. The fairways are mostly flat, except for some gently rolling. The signature hole is #3, a 171-yard, par 3, which calls for an elevated tee shot down to a medium-sized green that slopes away from the tee. Proper ball speed and accuracy play an important role on this hole.

Not a bad course, but you won't walk away in awe either. Holes are typical, but somewhat challenging. Reasonably priced greens fees as well. Only played there once, and that was about three years ago. Warning: I have become extremely spoiled living and playing in San Diego, and my reviews of St. Louis (my former place of residence) courses have suffered the consequences.

TimberStone Golf Course
"Worth the trip"
This course is easily the best course I have played. It's on a par with Blackwolf Run and the other Kohler courses at a fraction of the price. This course has a spectacular setting. It winds up and around Iron Mountain, and is a marvel of course design. Despite the elevation changes, only one hole plays uphill. The holes are cut out of the mountain side and winding cart paths take you to the next level, and hole, until you reach numbers 9 and 17, both of which play straight downhill (as does 18, a 600 yard par five with 3 terraced fairways). The grooming is immaculate and each hole is separated from the others by woods or water. Even on a busy day it feels like you're the only golfers on the course. The staff is friendly and efficient and the course is nicely rangered. As you play the course, you will marvel both at the quality of the experience and the incredible engineering required during construction. Rates have been in the $50-60 range for the past several years and its the best golf bargain you can find. This is a course you could play every day and it would remain interesting. The fairways and greens compare with any PGA site. This is one not to miss.

Sharp Park Golf Course
"Great Value ."
Sharp Park is a city owned course. Extremly reasonable rates. Twilight rate in the summer is about $5.00!!! What a value. It's an older course, fairly flat, easily walked, although carts are available. Several years ago the course was redesigned. Several holes were lengthened, a beautiful pond was added. It only comes into play on one hole and only on the mens tees. Due to the reasonable rates, the course has players of all skill levels.

Tight, but not to the point of taking the fun out of it. Rolling hills, large tee boxes, nice views and excellent greens. A fun course to play and it is dilligently protected by the homeowners that flank it.
