This resort's eighteen hole course is located in a bird sanctuary and wetlands. The fairways are wide open, and the greens are well bunkered. Both salt and fresh water hazards come into play on fourteen holes, so shot accuracy is at a premium. The most difficult hole is #18, a 470-yard, par 4, with the reputation of being the longest finishing hole in the state.

| When I played in March of 2009, the course was in pretty good shape with one or two of the greens under repair, but still very playable. Pretty wide open fairways, so if you spray you might find your ball in another fairway, but you have a good chance of finding it. Lots of water (duh, it's Florida). I will say that the staff, both in the shop and by the cart area, was very helpful. And you can order yourself lunch on the course from the cart lady who will go get it for you and bring it back to you. Great service. All in all, an enjoyable experience, but if you are paying full fare ($160 as a hotel guest), you will wind up being let down by the course quality. In other words, it is overpriced for the quality of the course. |
