This course has narrow, tree-lined fairways and water hazards that come into play on three holes. Grass bunkers are also scattered throughout the course. This course was built on rolling terrain so expect a few uneven lies. The greens are large, sloped, fast and a few are elevated.

| I grew up playing this course in the 70's and not much has changed since (except for some new homes going up). How many courses can you share a tee box with a horse named Bourban? He is buried (along with his grave marker) on the 14th hole. It's great, be sure to read the marker. Oh yes, the course. This is an old course and the evidencce can be seen in the way the greens are laid out. Almost all of the greens are plateaus. This makes hitting the greens a must if you are going to score well. There are no sand traps on the entire course and the course is relatively wide open. However, it is a challenge. What is lacks in sand traps and many trees it makes up for with large fairway berms and, as previously mentioned, elevated greens. The par 3 third sounds ridicously easy as it is only about 130 yards with no water or sand. I have maybe hit that little green 3 times in all my years. It is very small, very sloping, and is guarded by big old trees. Good Luck. The next is the par 5 4th and leaves a totally blind second shot. If you don't know the course, you must shoot through two large fairway mounds and lay up because fronting the green is a bullfrog laden pond ready to swallow your approach. I could go on and on about this course, just play it, you won't be disappointed by its charm. |
