Persimmon Hill Golf Club
Route 3Saluda, SC 29138
Phone: (803)275-3522Fax: (803)275-2863
This entire course is surrounded by water. Every green is large and undulating, so three-putting is a common occurrence. Six spring-fed lakes come into play on five different holes. Locals claim the hole that will test you the most is #8, a 500-yard, par 5, because of the severity of the water hazard bordering the hole. The finishing hole is a 630-yard, a par 5, which is South Carolina's longest hole.

| Played them all...when the greens are rolling smoothly...it can be the most fun course to play. People are cordial. Any time I'm in this part of the state...it's a must to play. |

A decent old-style course, Aug 27, 2007 |

| I've played Persimmon Hill several times in the last year, usually on Sundays, and it's been very consistent, so I feel pretty confident in these comments. It's a long drive from Augusta. Get there early and stretch out the kinks. They need a light fence between the end of the range and the #2 green. There are always range balls in the bunkers and sometimes even on the green. You don't need to be putting and have someone drop a range ball on your head. Watering is inconsistent from one part of the course to another. Beware of swampy spots, even near the tees, where the mud will go over your shoetops. Green speed is highly variable from one day to another. Sunday brunch eaters take over the grill at 12noon on Sunday. Is this a golf club or a restuarant? Is is too much to ask for 1 short par 3? Make your birdies on the front, because the back 9 will get you. Some of the par 4s on the back play LONG. |

| I have always had an enjoyable experience at this course. The staff treats you like a real preson and they work hard to maintain this course. It may not be an excellent course but it is hard to find this quality at this price. Mo and Eddie are great. |
