This is an old, traditional-style course with tree-lined fairways and excellent greens. There are not many out-of-bounds stakes on the course, but there are many mature trees lining the fairways can affect some of your shots. A difficult hole is #2, a 173-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to a pear-shaped green protected by sand bunkers on either side. The 6,154-yard men's tees have a ladies' course rating of 76.9 and a slope of 139.

Good Course, May 09, 2004
reviewer: Kramer LaBarge from San Angelo, Texas
I have never played a course like this. I have played Pebble Beach, Bay Hill, Bentwood, and Alto and San Angelo Country Club is the best I have ever played. I hope the golf pros at San Angelo Country Club and the golf pros at Bentwood see this review.
