The back nine of this course was built in 1970 and is a little more open than the front nine. The trees lining almost every fairway seem to be the biggest hazards on this course. However, water hazards (ponds and creeks) have also been incorporated into this course's design.

Tree line, Jan 08, 2005

Great little hide away with lots of deer roaming every time you play. Not long but you must be accurate. Ball placement is the key to a great round. Most see the short par fours and think you need a driver, but good solid 3 woods are your best chance on some holes.If you enjoy a great courses management style of play this is your courses.

Just a damn fine place., Nov 24, 2004

Getting out of the city to enjoy a course that challenges my duffer game and rewards me with deer and bunnies running across the fairways is great. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly professional staff are a true joy and great addition. Whenever I�m back in Texas my sons (5) and I manage to find at least one day to enjoy life the way it should be, peaceful. PS: Ya�ll need to get the Aggies to find a way to shore up that ditch on 18. Maybe they can fill it with beer cans from UT.

This cousce is very beautiful. The course was carved out of a wooded area so there are plenty of trees. Plenty of wildlife. The course is easy to moderate in difficulty. I give this course a 3 star.

"interesting course"
The greens are well kept and very fast at times. Many are sloped and undulated which makes putting difficult at times. The course is pretty open but has a nice layout.

Los Alamos Golf Course
"Great challenge for your game"
This course is a challenging course for the average player up to the scratch professionals. The fairways are tight and lined with sparse pine trees. The course is an old style course, which means it has incredibly small greens. The greens are probably to most true rolling greens in the state of New Mexico due to being so old. The course is short and very opportune for low scores. I really enjoyed playing this course and the people around the club. They treat you well and the rates are EXTREMELY cheap for such a quality course. I suggest taking the trip up to Los Alamos to have a great round of golf and also to enjoy the sights of the Jemez Mountains.

Argyle Country Club
"Hidden Gem"
Argyle Country Club is a little hidden gem that offers some challenging holes with a very lovely setting. The course starts off with a relatively easy par four but then you are faced with back to back par fives - never easy in the early part of a round! The sixth hole - the number one handicap - is deceptively challenging as is the par 3 seventh hole. Number nine is a nice front finishing hole. The back nine is quite beautiful with the number 12 par 5 offering a great view. Number 16 is a challenging dog leg leading to a stunning number 17 par 3, the "signature" hole. 18 is a great finishing hole leading to the clubhouse. Argyle is extremely affordable compared to other courses in the area. And, it never feels "stuffy." Enjoy!
