Santa Teresa Golf Club - Nine Hole Course

Phone: (408)225-2650Fax: (408)226-9598

This facility has an eighteen hole regulation course and a nine hole par 3 course. The eighteen hole course has both flat and undulating greens. Water comes into play on two holes, and there's only a few sand bunkers on the course. Robert Muir Graves redesigned the Eighteen Hole Course in 1982. The Nine Hole Course opened in January, 1996. The greens are fast and very well manicured. There are three lakes that come into play on six holes. The surrounding area of the course has mature trees and is a very serene and relaxing setting, according to locals. The green fees shown are good for all-day play.

Great place to go, Jun 04, 2005

I played the short course once or twice a week until I moved and miss it like crazy. I doubt I'll ever find such a superbly maintained public course that cost such a tiny amount of coin. I highly recommend taking the family, friends, date, whatever over to S.T. and giving it a try. S.T.'s short course has it all (for a par 3 obviously). Water and sand present danger for misplaced shots but because the holes are all so short you'll never get frustrated or tired and will likely go again if you have the time. The greens are always kept in great shape and the lack of severe undulation or extreme speed make them perfect for newcomers to the game while still providing practice for low handicappers as well. We're only talking $11 (yes, eleven) to play the short 9 so it's a great value for the casual player or couple who doesn't play often enough. It's ussually very easy to get on the short course with no waiting and during the weekday days you'll likely play with no chance of anyone in front or behind. Santa Teresa has a very nice practice putting green and chipping green as well as a fine driving range. The staff is friendly and helpful and you'll find good food and an adequate pro shop. THE FULL COURSE is a championship 18 hole course that, although older then the 9 hole, is in just as good a shape and equally maintained. Trees line the average width fairways and the course can be challenging for many players from the back tees. There are no great elevation changes or huge waterfalls to marvel at here but the holes themself provide the needed variety to entertain. This is no boring straight course like the muni but instead a family oriented, well manicured gem for all play levels. Rates for the 18 aren't as great a value as the par 3 9 hole course but worth it all the same. Getting on the 18 hole course is not near as simple as the 9. Tee times aren't reserved and they use a list system so the wait can be annoying and lengthy at times. This is also not ideal if you want to play as a twosome or single because regardless of the time or day you will be grouped up with others to form a foursome.

Great Public Track, Apr 23, 2004

Santa Teresa is a really good public course. The front nine is easy-to-moderately challenging golf, and the back is mostly moderately challenging. Lots of interesting holes. Most importantly, the course is almost always in great shape.

Santa Teresa Golf, Feb 09, 2004

Santa Teresa's 9 hole course is a really good course for those just starting out. The course offers a challenge to beginner golfers. I'd recommend this course to all who want to play a short course.
