This well-maintained executive course features four par 4's and five par 3's. The greens are undulating and fast, and the fairways are sparsely tree lined and bordered by a defined cut of rough. There are four water hazards that come into play on this course. This is an excellent course for beginning golfers or experienced ones who wish to work on their short game. There is one cart available for handicap individuals who are unable to walk the course. The scorecard doesn't show handicaps for individual holes.

Great place to learn the game, Sep 29, 2005

My wife and I are 12 months into learning the game and this place is great. There's a driving range, chipping area, and a rewarding 9 holes. The fairways are open and wide, there are few bunkers and the greens play fast, so with a little luck it's possible for the beginer to make par.

"If you get the chance to play..."
great course requiring the use of all clubs in the bag. most holes are quite challenging,at least for this (15) handicapper. most holes require keeping it in the fairway, or it's trouble. water comes into play on a few holes. blind tee shot on 18 can be a killer. don't pass up the opportunity to play! finally, being from out of town was made easier by the friendly staff.

What a great course!!!! Tough, windy, good greens, Robert Trent Jones design, mountains, scenery, helpful staff and outstanding price. What can you ask for more? only one thing, the slope is underrated and you'll shoot higher scores. Not to be missed

"My review"
A very nice course! I haven't played many course's, but this is my favorite. It's a nice looking course, flows nicely, and it's different (woods to link style), plus it's in my home town. The rates are reasonable, but they (non-resident)may need to be lowered a bit to get people through the gates. For a course this nice, it should have a functioning club house (i.e., bar, resturant, function hall, etc.), get Titleist as sponsor.

"A Real Golf Course, Open All Year."
DVGC is a real test of golf. All the holes are fair and require you to hit shots. 7-9 and 16-18 are some of the toughest closing holes around this area. There are plenty of birdie opportunities if you are on your game, there are also plenty of water hazards if you are off your game. It has been known to blow a little in the afternoon, so play as early in the day as possible. Dayton Valley is a fantastic course with a terrific staff.
