This is a historic course because Arnold Palmer won his first PGA Tournament here. The signature hole is #4, a 371-yard, par 4, featuring a straightaway fairway guarded by a large pine tree on the right that needs to be avoided. Water hazards come into play on nine holes. You can not walk the course until 2 PM.

| This Is just a great little corse that can be played over and over again and still be enjoyed. My favorite hole #9 is where you play right up to the club house but watch out for the water. |

Huge Improvements, Dec 02, 2008 |

| What used to be a dump has gotten much, much better due to management willing to spend a bit to fix things. It claims to be a Donald Ross layout, but this course is not listed in Ross books. Stills, there is a Ross feel to the tightness of tees to greens and some of the simple looking yet challenging holes. A very enjoyable 18, even if some of the fairways are still a bit patchy. |

What an Improvement!, Oct 03, 2008 |

| This course has seen a tremendous improvement since the new manager took over a year ago. the course is still not perfect but is night and day different from the summer of 2007. Given time it will again be the grand course it once was. I am proud to say this is my home course. |

| Wow has this course gone down hill. To say it is bad now is like saying the ocean is damp. Dirt fairways, greens that are loaded with bugs and tire marks, traps that are packed dirt full of weeds, 6 months of standing sewage in broken course toilets, broken ball washers, full rates, Ranger only drives around collecting balls to resell... This course should be avoided and closed. It wouldn't be worth playing at half the rates they charge. |

Nastalgic Ross Course, Feb 12, 2004 |

| The Mayfair course brings us back to a time where the longest hitters on the PGA only drove the ball 250 yards. This means that for the majority of men today, you can play this course like the pro's play their championship 7200 yard courses. A good tee shot leaves you with a 7 to 9 iron approach. The signiture Donald Ross Turtle back greens are high and sloped and need to be navagated with thought. The open fairways mean that for the average golfer that is in the fringe or ruff you can still play on without haveing to take too many penality strokes like you do on some narrow house lined courses. In short, this course is beautiful with its tree lined fairways and a good challenge for the average golfer. If money value for course were a catagory this would be a five star. |
