Great little country course, Apr 20, 2004

The course is well maintained and landscaped. It has mature trees and the 9/18 hole is entirely over water - a short iron drive but can be an amusing finish to your round, if you splash it with your group. Beautiful Illinois country setting and QUIET. Did I say, QUIET? Great for outings and scrambles.

Texas National Golf Club
"Texas National is a great value."
This is a great course kept in extremely good shape. It is a little far out from Houston but if you live anywhere on the north side, it's well worth the drive. It's inexpensive and not crowded, especially on weekdays. The greens are in very good shape and the course is challenging without being a killer.

Rancho Solano Golf Course
"Plenty of Choices"
Rancho Solano presents the normal golfer a blend of narrow fairways with generous ones but the most memorable traits are indeed the greens. Being on the right level on a given green can be your ticket to a great round while being on the wrong one can ruin your day. The hilly area is well displayed as the course undulates through the Fairfield foothills and some of the views from the higher holes are outstanding.
