This course was designed with the intermediate golfer in mind. The fairways are tree lined, but generous, and the small greens are fast. Water hazards (ponds) come into play several times. This private club does not publish any cart or green fees, and caddies are mandatory if you choose to walk the course.

Deceptively difficult course with pitfalls surrounding its small greens. What the greens lack in undulations is made up by a consistant fast speed. The bunkers are strategically situated to capture the slightly stray golf shot. All in all a good test.

This is a great course. It is decieving - seeming like you can't get into too much trouble - but that is not the case. The greens are incredibly fast.

Chapel Hill Country Club
"HARD TO GET ON - GREAT TO PLAY"
Course is a traditional style designed by Gene Hamm and renovated by John LaFoy in 1999. This is the only private course in Chapel Hill. Walking is encouraged and it is a great way to experience the course. Signature hole IS NOT # 14. It's # 10 which can require carry over water twice. Pin on this hole makes 3 to 4 clubs difference on second shot. It's a beauty! Only one hole without bunkers - the par 3 9th is about 175 uphill from middle tees. Out of bounds on many of the holes as the fairways rise and fall through a very established traditional and exclusive neighborhood. Greens are all large (with at least 6 different zones on each one for pin placement)and have many contours. Three putts are common - especially in spring and fall when the bent grass surface is kept very fast. Bring your thinking cap, but also bring your game if your fun comes from scoring well. It's not an easy course, but it's not Jack Nicklaus difficult either.

The greens are well kept and very fast at times. Many are sloped and undulated which makes putting difficult at times. The course is pretty open but has a nice layout.
