Prouts Neck Country Club499 Black Point Rd Scarborough, ME 04074 Phone: (207)883-9851
This scenic course was built on a peninsula next to the Atlantic Ocean. The fairways are very narrow, and the terrain is flat. At times, expect the heavy ocean breezes to make the game more difficult. Guests of members may play unaccompanied, but if guests are accompanied by a club member, they will receive a discount on the green fee. In addition, guests of the Black Point Inn may play on a limited basis.

| I was very impressed with the course on the first 3 holes. On the fourth hole, there are a number of hazards that aren't listed on the score card. To begin with, the ball washer is located out in the woods and isn't mounted on a post. Then, the tee off area is under construction of some kind. There are huge furrows on it. The markers are all over the fairway. As I teed off, my ball dissappeared into a gigantic cloud of insect fog, and smoke from burning brush. As I came up the hill, my ball was gone, just vanished! I asked the residents of the house on the fairway, and they said they didb't see it. Then they asked me if I wanted to buy a new one! My shot onto the green went through a giant spray from the irrigation system which had a gaping hole cut into the 6" pipe. I know I just said the green, but , it was all but green. It was in deplorable condition. It was almost as though a giant sickle bar was run over it by a machine with tractor tires. There were also small trees scattered around the fairway. |
