This is a good course to practice your short game. There is a practice putting green available. One reason the course plays so difficult is because of the 157 condominiums and townhouses lining the perimeter of the course. The fairways are lined with trees, making them fairly narrow. The greens are large, fast, and undulating. Water hazards (creeks) come into play on many holes.

Nice little course, my wife can play and enjoy it, because it is not long; while I can practice my short game......nice greens, course is in beautiful condition.

An "executive" course, this 9 hole challenge has scenery and conditioning every bit as good as its 4+ star neighbors. Check out holes 4, 7 and 9 for particularly great views. Most greens are large, in good condition and with some tricky breaks. The shortest holes, 6 & 7, are far from easy pars. On the longer holes, particularly the difficult #8, play the white tees if you are not hitting straight. Good course for couples, or if you can't spend the whole day on a course.

"The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
This 9 hole course is the hardest little course I have ever played! If you think the Links is hard wait until you play this bad boy! The hardest hole would probably be #7. This par 5 may look easy when you step up on these elevated tee boxes but just wait until you tee off. Thats when the adventure begins. The second hardest would the #5. This par 4 dogleg right is probably the hardest par 4 on the course. Of course there are a few easy holes thrown in just so you don't lose your confidence. So if you are ever traveling through Throckmorton; be sure and stop to play "The Best Little Course in West Texas!"

Manasquan River Golf Club
"What a jewel!"
As described, hilly front 9, blind shots, sidehill lies, fast greens...backside links style, flat but river and ocean breezes can wreak havoc...it has been re-rated and the rough grown to 5 inches...if you can play here, you can play anywhere. Apparently their members have won a number of NJ Amateur championships as well as participated in US Opens...speaks to the challenge of this layout.

"Waste of time & money"
This course is extremely over rated. It's like most private courses these days "broke". They don't have enough money to make the course live up to the name it once carried. It's the Wal-Mart of golf courses (had a good name at one time, but now you don't get what you paid for).
