This fairly open course has water hazards coming into play on seven holes. The fairways are narrow, placing a premium on shot accuracy.

An easy to underrate course, Aug 04, 2010 |

| I noticed the reviews previously posted. First, it is a cow pasture and it is not in good shape. Having said that, it is not a bad course on which to sharpen your skills. Number 1 is as long as noted and you just live with that. 5 is wicked. The fairway slopes right rather sharply and to the left is tiger country. Unless you are a very long driver, you will bogey this hole. 7 is a tough par 3. Anything even slightly right is wet and the green is the size of my thumbnail. 10 is a blind shot over a hill. 12 is an ultra blind shot over a hill. 13 from the back tee is one of the best holes in Berks County. Your drive must go up a considerable hill just to enter the first dogleg. Then you will have to hit a long iron to get deep into the second dogleg so that you will be able to see the green since the hole is so sharply curved that you cannot see the green from the left side of the fairway. AND the 13th green is viciously banked and very small. 17 is another one with a significantly banked fairway (to the right). It is a very short par 4 but there is endless trouble on the right. This one can catch you sleeping. And 18 is easy to underclub since most people don't realize just how uphill it is. It's an UGLY course, but is still a good practice course. |

Great course for everyone, beginners or scratch players, Jun 08, 2006 |

| Two main things make Perry a great place to play. First is hole #1. At 580 yards you can't find a bigger challenge to start off your round. Second is hole #13. It's not a long par 5, but what makes it great is the huge dog-leg to the left around dense trees. |
