A tough challenge, but one that will make you come back.., Jan 02, 2008 |

| The Shadow Course is another tough track by Pete Dye. It is a links style course (roughly nine out and nine back along the valley floor with four holes taking a detour up and then down the hillside) that challenges golfers to make the right decisions. Some would call it "target golf" but in reality, course management is key. Always firing at the pin can be a disaster as the greens are terraced and can make good shots turn bad. Pick the brain of your forecaddie (if available) and call ahead to reserve the most knowledgeable. Now while the course is tough, standing on some of the tee boxes make you feel like you're king of the world. Play smart, and you might be. PS. when your caddie tells you to hit your 135 club when your standing on the 200 yard marker with the wind at your back on the 18th, believe them! |
