This course is very difficult to score well on. There are many sand and grass bunkers on every hole. Water hazards come into play on half the holes. The small greens are fast, and the fairways are narrow.

This course is both challenging and entertainging. It has not been in such great shape since the late 1980's. With new sandtraps,trees, and improved greens the course really shines.

if you get a chance,play it!...best conditon its ever been in...new bunkers this year...some great subtle changes...some places you can not be if you want to score...

"Westwinds - A shot makers course"
Bring every club in your bag and put your thinking cap on before coming to this course. Best bet is to go out with a member or get a yardage book and stay on track for a 4 hour round. Best quote out on the golf course - "I'll either play over you, around you or through you, you take your pick."

Lake Wilderness Golf Course
"Good targeted golf layout"
Likes: This is a good test of any golfers skill. It requires you to think and plan from the tee. Golfers who like to pull out "The Big Dog" and grip it and rip it on every hole will not like this course. The course forces you to play smart to score well. There are risk/reward holes worth the gamble, and others that attempt to sucker you. If you play smart you can score well at Lake Wilderness. If not, it may be a long day. This is a shorter course. The clubhouse has good food and good beer. Dislikes: Only one really. I don't care for holes where there are houses close. This course has a handful of them.
