This is a long, flat course with tree-lined fairways. Water and sand bunkers frequently come into play. The signature hole is #14, a 186-yard, par 3, which requires a long tee shot over water. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 2nd "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996.

| My family played Garrisons Lake Golf club during the late '60's and early 70's when Dot & Charlie Ewing owned the course. Then, the trees were small, but the long and well cared fairways and greens made the course challenging, especially for someone just getting started in golf.
I have since moved to Texas where they only play bermuda greens and fairways. When I returned to attend my 25th HS reunion at Caesar Rodney (class of '67), I found the bent greens a delight.
When in the Dover area, make it a point to play Garrisons Lake GC. |
