This club has a regulation eighteen hole course, plus a regulation nine hole course. The East Hill Course provides the golfer with a variety of golf situations. Some holes are tricky because of the careful placements of the hazards. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on four holes. There are plenty of sand bunkers on this hilly course, and all the greens and tee boxes are elevated. The West Hill Course does not have any parallel holes. This course is more hilly and narrower than the average course. The greens are very undulating and fast. The course has sand bunkers around the greens and on the fairways. I am an average golfer who finds the west course to be difficult. The ball breaks a lot on all the greens which means that 3 putts are possible. Many approach shots to the greens are uphill. Even in the middle of the fairway you very rarely have a level lie. However there are some short holes which present birdie opportunities.

"Challenging but Fair"
If you play the course right you will have to use every club in your bag. Variety of holes, no two are alike. Trees, bunkers, water, doglegs and hills, this course has it all. Beginners with a wild driver will have some trouble but will not have to hit over obstacles except for two greens surrounded by water. Staff is great and course is getting in better shape each year.

"My first course"
I grew up playing MCC. The main criticism of the track has always been that you never get a flat lie, which is often enough true, but a weak criticism nonetheless. When typically fast the greens are challenging (hint: everything breaks toward the ocean); on #13, if you don't keep it below the hole, any putt you don't sink will wind up all the way at the bottom. The course favors a longer driver, and offers plenty of challenge and opportunity for creativity. And you can't beat the view of the Pacific.
