This course's mountain views are breathtaking, including a panoramic view of Sonora. Water hazards come into play on seven holes. This hilly course has open fairways, so don't be afraid to break out the driver. The grounds crew recently planted 200 trees on the course, but the trees haven't matured enough to pose any real threat.

Desert Hills Golf Club
"What a golf course should be."
I have played this private course 5-6 times since 1992 and have enjoyed it every time. Recently I played as a guest in a small tournament and the course was in excellent condition. There are 8 other courses in this retirement community, several owned and managed by large course management groups, but they are not in the same class as this one as far as quality is concerned. There are few if any divots on the greens, all players seem to be very conscious of divot repair on the entire course, including the rough, facilities are clean and fresh, clubhouse is pleasant and modern and the staff is great. I have just joined and am thrilled to death with a life-time membership to look forward to!

"Tough Day"
I played this course with my brother,(scratch) on a Saturday in September 2003. We found it easily, we paid and went thru the rather surly starter and we were off, there wasn't much of a wait on the first tee. The first couple of holes were standard, it was a rather breezy day so I was really challenged to keep my ball on our the fairway.(this would be my problem for most of the round). Nice elavation changes, and the course looked great compared to it's neighbor,(whitetail). Dogs and beer at the turn. The back nine was just as nice as the front. Immaculate greens with challenging pin positions. Afterwards it was a couple of more beers and burgers at the lounge. Good food. If we had more time we would have gone to their fine dining restaurant, got a glance at their menu, looked really nice. great sunset too! Overall a great day.

"Hidden gem of the midlands"
Fast greens, Plush fairways, challenging layout. Not as open as it looks. The course was redone from tee to green about a year ago. This course will play like a 5 star course when the renovations mature. Best little course in the midlands. Friendly staff. Friendly members. Worth the money to join. Worth the money to play.
