Pine Valley Golf Club300 Welch Rd Southington, CT 06489 Phone: (860)628-0879Fax: (860)620-1920
This very scenic course is well maintained. With the exception of a couple of hills, this course is predominantly flat. The fairways are tree lined, and the greens are medium in size and speed. There are some narrow fairways that make for difficult tee shots. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 3rd "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. Weekend tee times are reserved on Wednesday beginning at 6 PM.

| The conditions have always been well kept. The greens run true and are usually in fine shape. The overall layout is quite picturesque. As the public links go this has a myriad of hole designs. From the white tees and blue the course does not call for length. It is a shotmakers course and can really be exciting for those who like to try to make the ball move in either direction. Many of the holes have inviting fronts to come in low and run or you can fly the approach shots. ----
At least 2 par fives are accessible for even a reasonably long hitter and the greens are receptive for possible Eagle chances. The toughest par 5 requires a slippery draw to avoid a protective tree. Another par 5 truly calls for a risk / reward decision off the tee or your second shot will be a recovery, rather a than a go ahead chance. Some good bunker protection on a few par 4's also ... like number 17. Overall it is alot of fun. -------
The club house at one time had some of the best food I have ever had at an invitational golf outing event. |
