This countryside course has a front nine that was built on hilly terrain while the back nine is much flatter. Water hazards come into play on several holes, including a pond that was placed on the left side of the fairway of hole #13 during renovations in 1997. The greens are medium-sized. One of the most difficult holes on the course is #6, a 508-yard, par 5, which plays uphill and requires an approach shot over water. A new computerized irrigation system was installed in the fall of 1997. Tee times are reserved for weekends and holidays only.

The new management has really turned this course around. The course is in great shape and has some of the best greens around for a public course. The new staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel wanted.

Since this course has added irrigation there has been solid improvement in condition. Also the greens are usually kept in good shape. Recently I heard that it has been bought by new owners and they have several plans to make it even better. This course could be on the rise.

this southington course has a long front 9 that has a really hilly terrain and the back 9 is much flatter and from my point of view a much more enjoyable 9 holes. when i visited this country club last year the staff there was kind of nasty and the cashier didnt even know much about the course that she worked at!!! All in all its a good place to golf, but not the best there is.
