This links-style course has integrated the natural environment in its design, including numerous natural lakes, centuries-old cottonwood trees and awe-inspiring views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The design features water coming into play on eleven out of its eighteen holes, and generous sand and grass bunkers have been incorporated into the design as well. The course plans to add an additional eighteen holes by Hale Irwin in the future. Group packages for seventeen to thirty-six people are available by setting a reservation at least six months in advance, and for more than thirty-seven players, eighteen months in advance.

Open Fairways, Oct 21, 2004

| Our foursome's consensus was that the course was very attractive, with open fairways -- easier than met the eye. For Midwesterners not used to the elevation changes, judging distances and angles was tough and fun, particularly from the tee boxes. Pretty tough greens, large and undulating. GPS system is very helpful for new players on this type of course. Some holes are surrounded by homes, construction so somewhat distracting and noisy. Other spots are wide open and spectacular. So, sometimes has the feel of a pure resort course - tight; and others a pure open course. Some of the greens had been aerated and fertilized, so weren't true. |

| Red Hawk was an unbelievable joy. From the courteaous staff, to the course itself, it was a joy to be able to experience Red Hawk. Club rental was a joy as they provided New King Cobra oversized clubs.
The course itself has a great layout, with beautiful scenery. Some water hazards, and links stylings made this a must play for any type golfer. |
