This very hilly course features pine trees and a defined cut of rough bordering all its fairways. The medium-sized greens are undulating and have average speed. There are no water hazards, but sand bunkers are in play on every hole. Many scenic views of the countryside and the City of Spokane can be seen from off most of the holes. "Golf Digest" rated this course 6th in the categories of "Best Public Course" and "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" from their list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play" for 1996. They also rated it 12th among the "Top 75 Public Courses" for 1990. In addition, it was ranked as the 7th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and the 12th best for 1997-98. All the tees are rated for both men and ladies.

Sharp Shooters Delight, Feb 10, 2005

The Canyon is an old rustic course that challenges all skill levels, and at times brings a golfer to his knees! The course layout forces a player to place the ball on 80% of their shots throughout the round. Risky shots can be very rewarding or can wreck a great round. All in all the course is a must play. As for the staff behind the scene-- Gary Lindeblad is one of the best Head and/or teaching Pros' in the Pacific Northwest and I would say he has the respect from his colleagues to back up my statement!

Very Beautiful and is challenging at times, Apr 05, 2004
reviewer: Justin Rogers from Cheney, WA USA
This is a very lush course that has pretty accessable greens. Length is kinda short but it is hard to walk because of the hills.
