This course has well-established trees lining its fairways. There are various trees such as live oaks that keep the course green year-round. "This is a tough course with treacherous fairways," states the head professional. The fairways are tight and undulating, so expect some uneven lies. The greens are fast and undulating. This course has one downhill hole and all the rest play uphill. There are some water hazards that come into play on holes #7 and #8 and sometimes on holes #13 through #16. Houses line the outside perimeter of the course. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 13th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and the 9th best for 1997-98. In addition, "GOLFWEEK" selected it 85th best out of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997, 82nd in 1998 and 93rd in 1999.
