This course has water hazards (lakes) coming into play on four holes. In addition, there are numerous sand bunkers spread throughout the course's design. Mill Creek and a drainage ditch runs throughout the course which frequently come into play. Robert Muir Graves redesigned the course in 1978. The senior discount is only good on Friday. The ladies' par is actually 75.

The course is OK, the fairways are a bit spotty in the summer months and the greens would be very good if the golfers would repair divot marks. The driving range is too small and only has artifical turf available. Overall I think it's a decent public course

A very easy course, it probably makes the membership feel good about their game. I shot a very mundane 2 under and did not strike the ball that well. There is not much that can be done with this very boring layout, however they could focus on the irregular and unkempt greens. The one star would be for the adequate service at the clubhouse.

"Texas National is a great value."
This is a great course kept in extremely good shape. It is a little far out from Houston but if you live anywhere on the north side, it's well worth the drive. It's inexpensive and not crowded, especially on weekdays. The greens are in very good shape and the course is challenging without being a killer.

Bring every club in your bag and put your thinking cap on before coming to this course. Best bet is to go out with a member or get a yardage book and stay on track for a 4 hour round. Best quote out on the golf course - "I'll either play over you, around you or through you, you take your pick."
