This is a very demanding course. The front nine is flat and features wide open fairways, while the back nine is hilly with narrow fairways. In addition, two lakes and a stream come into play on six holes. Tee times are reserved for the weekends on the Tuesday prior.

One of long golf courses in northern VA, greens in good condition, although fairways are a little dry. But overall, well maintained and organized. Highly recommended if you want to test your long drive.

Well layed out course but poorly maintained. Below average course. Fairways are in poor condition. Fairways are never cut, cannot expect any roll. Greens are heavy and dead. Only the practice green is fast. A little make over will result in a very beautiful course. Heard that course is spending money to increase the height of the tee boxes on some holes. Rather they should be maintaing the fairways and greens.

Bent Creek Country Club
"Exquisite Conditioning"
I was a member at Bent Creek for ten years until moving to South Carolina. Day in and day out, compared with top caliber courses, this is probably the best conditioned course in the Mid-Atlantic area. Tees, fairways, and greens are bent grass, as are the practice tees and even one of the two practice ranges. The course is more difficult than its slope and course rating indicate, with very difficult holes at the start, especially from the back tees. It is a great course for average players from the regular men's tees, and a fantastic test for better players from the back. An under-par score from the back tees is exceptional.

Tierra del Sol Golf Club
"Played Tierra del Sol many times"
Tierra del Sol is an excellent test of any golfers ability. Several holes present outstanding challenges with water, out-of-bounds, undulating terrain, and several difficult (blind) tee shots involved. The course becomes even harder when wind comes up as it often does in this Mojave Desert community. This is an outstanding course to play for the money. Only lack of conditioning excellence on some holes keeps this from rating higher.

I played here twice so far. The fairways were in pretty good shape. They recently hired a new superintendent from Charlotte National (Dino) who produces some of the best greens in Charlotte. With a little time, he will have those greens rolling right. He has already started re-doing all the bunkers. Some walks from green to the next tee would be impossible to make. It has some beautiful holes. Most bunkers did not have enough sand in them, but they're being re-worked now with some getting all new drainage and sand and some being filled in as grass bunkers. This will make it a fairer course.
