This course's fairways are tree lined and well manicured. Ponds, streams and bogs come into play on half the holes. The signature hole is #16, a 173-yard, par 3, which features more than 90,000 flowers as part of its design. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 3rd "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996, and ranked it as the 4th "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. The same publication chose it 21st among the "Top 75 Public Courses" for 1990, and ranked it 18th in the category of "Top 75 Upscale Courses" in 1996. The course is sculpted from the Wisconsin wilderness, and was included as one of the 60 best courses in "America's Greatest Golf Courses," a book by golf writer Davy Hoffman, published in 1988. The 5,798-yard ladies' tee also has a men's course rating 69.3 and slope of 128.

This course is top shelf. No two holes alike and you need every club in the bag. Plays longer than the actual yardage as the fairways are usually soft and little roll on tee shots. Trent Jones didn't call this course his "Mona Lisa" for nothing.
