This course has very large pine trees lining its narrow fairways. The fast greens are medium to large in size. The Wisconsin River feeds the courses lakes and ponds. Water hazards come into play on at least four holes, plus out-of-bounds areas frequently appear, so shot accuracy is essential.

Tree-lined, 'honest' course, Apr 07, 2004
reviewer: Anonymous from WI
This course is a tree-lined, old course that doesn't pull any 'cutesy' gimmicks. It is pretty much straight and reasonably flat. It is a pleasure to play a course that you don't have to worry if you'll get a flat lie on the fairway. The fairways can be immaculate, like playing on carpet. The tall pine trees lining the fairways usually offer some type of recovery shot, if necessary, with few lost balls. The greens are relatively average, all single tiered. The staff is very accomodating and the course is rarely crowded. Membership rates are the lowest I've seen on courses of this caliber. A gem of a course!!
