This course has helped the Oklahoma State University golf team flourish in recent years, due to its appeal to potential recruits. All the fairways on this extremely narrow course are tree lined and bordered by a standard cut of rough. The terrain is hilly, and the medium-sized greens have many subtle breaks and are fast. The signature hole is #11, a 209-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to the longest green on the course. Hole #13, a 421-yard, par 4, was named one of "The Best Holes You Can Play" by "Golf Digest" in 1997. This hole plays straightaway to a flat fairway, then uphill to a gentle green. It has just one bunker, on the right edge of the fairway, and the green allows you to run the ball up onto the surface. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the #1 "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996, and they also selected it 16th best out of the "Top 75 Upscale Courses" for the same year. The same publication rated it as the 3rd "Best in State" course from 1995 through 1998. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" named it 64th best under the 1998 category of the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." "GOLFWEEK" ranked it 85th among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1997, and 68th for 1998 and 58th for 1999.

This place is as good as it gets. Rustic feel on the edges and perfection on the course. Great club house and pure golf. Bring your A game from the tips or you have no chance to break 90 regardless of your handicap.

Southmoore Golf Course
"Tough Day"
I played this course with my brother,(scratch) on a Saturday in September 2003. We found it easily, we paid and went thru the rather surly starter and we were off, there wasn't much of a wait on the first tee. The first couple of holes were standard, it was a rather breezy day so I was really challenged to keep my ball on our the fairway.(this would be my problem for most of the round). Nice elavation changes, and the course looked great compared to it's neighbor,(whitetail). Dogs and beer at the turn. The back nine was just as nice as the front. Immaculate greens with challenging pin positions. Afterwards it was a couple of more beers and burgers at the lounge. Good food. If we had more time we would have gone to their fine dining restaurant, got a glance at their menu, looked really nice. great sunset too! Overall a great day.

Lake Nine Course
"Great Value"
For $5 (walking) this is a great value. My son and I try to play the course once a week ... and we can afford it. The course is narrow and challenging for the amateur golfer and can be completed in less than 2 hours. The course is reasonably well kept and the club house is excellent.

Elm Tree Golf Course
"Narrow at times, but overall a nice course"
This course is nice because they offer a lot of specials and has a very nice pro shop. Its a little long in spots, no sand, one water hazard. Pretty straight forward, recommend it and walden oaks in cortland area
