This is a tight course. The back nine is very long and features some dogleg fairways. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on two holes. This course is excellent for advanced golfers. The out-of-bounds stakes are really close to the fairways, so accuracy is at a premium. Tee times are accepted Tuesday through Sunday. Walking is available daily after 3PM.

member for 15 years, Nov 11, 2008

I am appalled by the reviews by some people of our golf course. I have been a member for over 15 years. The new company put in a new irrigation system and tees in 06 and that was a tough year but since the course is better than ever, the staff is professional and attentive and we are the best club of members around. The negative reviews are so out of line it sounds like someone got their hat handed to them when they came to compete in the 3-day member guest or are from another competitive course trying to maks us out to look bad. Just come and play yourself and have something to eat then please take the time to write an honest review of the club. I am appalled by those jerky reviews and I have been a member for a long time so I would know. It is amazing what people will write when they get beat up by our awesome greens or lose our member guest!

Great course, great club, great people, Aug 11, 2008
reviewer: David M. from Westport, CT
I played here recently as a guest and I was so impressed, I looked into membership for myself. The course was in excellent condition, the burgers in the grill room were the best I've had in any restaurant. The management greeted me like I was a member and the staff was friendly. It was a perfect day, I will be a member next spring.

member guest was terrible, Jul 25, 2007
reviewer: Oronoque MG participant from Madison, CT USA
recently played in the member guest at this course. Having played this course a couple of times this year before this event i was shocked that a private course has too levels of course conditions. Normal - Slow greens and mediocre up keep then m/g weekend - lightning fast greens and impeccable fairways (rough still has signs of a 2 year ago sprinkler installation). Food was terrible and the committee runs the club not the general manager or head pro. committe decided that 12+ handicappers would play greens because the commitee members normally play from their and their handicaps are so sandbaged they ended up in lower flights Most corrupt club i have seen

What waste of a good course, Dec 07, 2004
reviewer: Joe P from Stratford, CT
Course is tight and short but enjoyable. But the staff is rude and all they want to do is rush you around the course as fast as possible. Food is terrible for a private course, if i was a member i would be embarrased to bring a guest here. Al (new head pro) is only staff member who appears to care. Oh, by the way don't show up around 11:00 because the course caters to a group called the "Circus". Maybe its a fitting name, this "private" course is a Circus

In bad shape and staff have a bad attitude on top of that, Aug 26, 2004
reviewer: a disapponted golfer from Fairfield CT
I playyed this course a few years ago and went back recently for a golf outing . I was surprised at how poorly maintained the course was. The greens are particulaly bad. What made the experiece worse was how arrogant the staff was. You would have thought we were playing at Pebble beach the way they acted. It was clear that we were not welcome there despite being with members ( who actually live in Oronoque)
