Stratton Mountain Country Club - Mountain/Forest CourseAccess RdStratton Mountain, VT 05155 Phone: (802)297-4115Fax: (802)297-4117 This club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. These challenging courses have water hazards coming into play on twenty-two of the twenty-seven holes. The Lake Course plays around a large lake that comes into play on several holes. The difficult Mountain Course has elevated greens and is very scenic. The Forest Course is fairly narrow and demands shot accuracy. The greens on all three courses are very large, undulating and fast. The signature hole on the Mountain Course is #5, a 621-yard, par 5, with a stream on the right and a pond on the left and requiring a downhill second shot to a green that is well-guarded by a water hazard in front and sand bunkers on the left. This club hosted the LPGA McCall's Classic from 1990-96. "Golf Digest" has rated this course as one of New England's finest courses. In addition, "Golf Digest" rated the Mountain/Lake Course as the 3rd "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996.
