This traditionally-designed course is fairly flat. There are trees along the fairways which can come into play if you don't keep your shots straight. Many of the greens have severe slopes that make them difficult to read. The signature hole is #13, a 536-yard, par 5, with a dogleg around a lake and requiring an uphill approach shot to a green surrounded by eight bunkers. This hole was rated by the "Arizona Republic" and "Phoenix Gazette" newspapers as being one of the top ten holes in the state for 1989-90.

| This course is awesome! You can grip it and rip it at Hillcrest. The fairways are huge and the greens are gigantic. What makes this course stand out are the risk vs reward cary shots. Course is 25 years old in December of 2004 and the course record is 62 but the 64 shot by Billy Casper to win the 1986 Senior PGA Tour Round Up stood for many years. This course is a nice change of pace for people sick of donating a couple of Franklins for green fees and loosing a dozen balls on the tight desert courses. By far the best value in the Phoenix area. It is worth the drive but be sure to call for directions to the course. |
