Great time, 2 miles from ocean., May 25, 2004

I spent a week at my friends condo at The Sandpiper and had the time of my life. The staff was professional (Aaron?) and the course was challenging enough for experienced players as well as a novice like me.We felt like the only ones out there sometimes. I gave it a four because I haven't seen enough to rate it 5 but I am sure it's up there. I am seriously consider buying a condo here now and retiring here in 10 yrs, Sign me a satisfied NY'r,

"Good course to teach your kids"
This is a good course to teach tour kids how to golf, because it is a moderately short course. I took my 8 year old son golfing there, and he shot a 58! Not too bad for his first time out, and he had a blast!We have been back twice and can't wait for sping to go again.

"A fun course for the price."
Augusta Municipal Golf Course, affectionately known as "The Cabbage Patch" certainly isn't in the same league as its "big brother" on Washington Road, or even some of the more expensive public courses (The River, Jones Creek) in the Augusta area. However, that doesn't mean it's not a fun (and at times, very challenging) course to play. Greens range from very forgiving early in spring to harsh and very tight in summer and mid-winter. Fairways are narrow enough to provide a challenge off the tee on most holes. Rough is punishing throughout the course - so do your best to keep your ball out of it! Course upkeep can leave something to be desired, especially on weekends in spring and early summer. Don't be put off by the course's short length - you'll still find plenty of opportunity to hit every club in the bag. However, the short length does make for a good chance to walk the course and save a few bucks. Be sure to call for a tee time first, expecially on the weekends. New renovations to the clubhouse and a WONDERFUL staff add to the enjoyment of playing this cheap, fun, popular course where dozens of kids, students, and beginning adults have gotten their first taste of the game.

Crag Burn Golf Club
"A Masterpiece"
One of the best golf courses in the country. Very well balanced holes. equal amounts of doglegs left and right. Lengths vary so that almost every club in the bag is used. The rough is three feet tall if you miss the fairways. Very tough but very fair. Just simply one of the best in the USA.
