Ironwood Golf Course

This facility opened its back nine in 1998. The new holes have wider fairways and less trees, but are still very challenging. The course also has large, undulating greens, and the last four holes on the front nine were cut through the woods. Water comes into play on three holes and sand comes into play on every hole. Hole #7, a 496-yard, par 4, plays uphill and the dogleg fairway veers right through the woods.

This is a great, challenging course. Bring lots of golf balls! Beautiful layout, three uniquely different courses. Some trees, some water, some hills, some sand.

This course is chalenging but yet it also alot fun to play. You may loss a few golf balls on the birr but over all it is the nicest golf course in wisconsin I think. So if you are a golfer that likes to try new and challenging courses then this is the course for you. I personally have only golfed there 5 times but when i got there i knew that this course was better then the rest of them in wisconsin that i have golfed at. the people at ironwood take really nice care of there 3 amazing 9 holes. My personal favorite is the birr. But for others there 3 other 9 hole courses are great and there names are the callow, the meath, and the birr.

The course is challenging and offers wonderful visual appeal. All is well kept...but that won't help you on the course as it is likely to set you back a couple of strokes the first time you play it.

AWESOME COURSE, May 15, 2004 |

I have only gotten to play a select few courses in the Wisconsin area mainly because I always choose to play ironwood and its a good 30-40 minute drive to get there. The holes are challenging and the course is always in great shape. Moving from the white to the blue tees will definitely offer quite the challenge(not to mention black tees are available)
