This facility has an eighteen hole regulation course and a nine hole executive course. These family-style courses are still playable in the winter due to the drainage system. The fairways are narrow, and there are several sand bunkers in play throughout the courses.

The course drains well in the rain and the greens are pretty challenging. It is definately worth the money for a good challenge.

This is a muni that is always in great shape. The front nine is the easier of the two, so score there. On the back the 11-14 holes can ruin your game so know where you hitting your tee shots. The last four holes can be birdies if you plan right. The greens are in good shape and average to fast.

A very reliable and consistent course (owned by Metro Parks). Never too crowded. There's also a 9 hole par 3 course to work on your short game. Guaranteed to please --> just beware of the man fronting as a women at the front counter . . .

This heavily-used public course is in very good condition all year thanks to a dedicated grounds crew. Good drainage makes it playable in the winter, too.

Stone Oak Country Club
"A beautiful midwest course worth playing"
This course looks timid on paper but watch out on the front nine. A couple of par 5's can really fool you by their degree of difficulty and a snowman is not uncommon on #6. The course is usually in immaculate shape with more hills on the back 9 that you would expect. The shortest par 3 I've ever played, #16 can be tricky even with the softest loft wedge. Overall this coursees beauty is in the top 10 in northwest ohio, and it is great fun to play given that you can find a member to take you out and enjoy it.

"What a golf course should be."
I have played this private course 5-6 times since 1992 and have enjoyed it every time. Recently I played as a guest in a small tournament and the course was in excellent condition. There are 8 other courses in this retirement community, several owned and managed by large course management groups, but they are not in the same class as this one as far as quality is concerned. There are few if any divots on the greens, all players seem to be very conscious of divot repair on the entire course, including the rough, facilities are clean and fresh, clubhouse is pleasant and modern and the staff is great. I have just joined and am thrilled to death with a life-time membership to look forward to!

"Excellent Greens"
Found course to be very challenging. Greens were the best I have ever played on. Some areas on course under repair with new irrigation system, but that will only improve the fairways. Look forward to playing the course in the future.

Refuge, The
"Very Nice Course"
The Refuge is the best kept public coures I have ever played on. It has tight fairways and very fast greens. You will love it.
