The course is under major renovation. New greens are being installed. Course will reopen in August. Keep an eye on this one, will be amazing once it reopens.

GREENS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR, Dec 11, 2004

NO NEED TO HURRY ON DOWN TO THIS COURSE EVEN THE MEMBERS WANT PLAY IT TILL REPAIRED. FAIRWAYS ARE NICE AS WELL AS MOST BUNKERS AND TRAPS. AT LEAST 65% OF THE GREENS NEED RESODDING. THEY SHOULD ALLOW FOR THIS IN THEIR PRICING UNTIL REPAIRED. I AM TOLD IT COULD TAKE 2 YEARS TO REMOVE FUNGUS.

"The classy links of the Thimble Islands"
There is nothing better to do on a warm summer evening than playing a few holes down on the POYCC golf course. The course is always kept in the best condition with improvements always being made where ever possible. The course is easy enough for the casual golfer, but has a variety of challenges that make it fun and competive. The best aspect of the course is the great atmosphere and senic views of classic New England in Long Island Sound. After playing with friends, returning to the club house is a great experience. The course is always alive and no matter what the circumstances it is always a good game of golf.

This was a flat course with no challenge beds curves etc. It is flat and straight and the greens seem like they need a little more attention.

Prairie View Golf Course
"Saving grace is practice range"
This is only a par 35 I believe. Only one challenging hole, and that is #9 where you must stay between both ponds. The rest is open, and pretty easy. It does seem to play longer then you would expect for a par 35. It is pretty plain jane, the trees are still young and small, not much shade offered in the heat of the day, and not alot of plantings or flower beds etc. Plenty of carts available, and pull carts.
